In 2021, a client came to our digital marketing agency looking for help. They had spent two hours calling wrong numbers from online directories trying to find an emergency AC repair service in Dhaka. Half the numbers were disconnected. Several businesses had relocated. One had closed three years ago but was still listed.
This was not an isolated incident. As digital marketing consultants working with over 100 Bangladesh businesses, we heard this frustration repeatedly from both sides. Customers could not find accurate business information. Business owners struggled to be discovered by local customers actively searching for their services.
We realized Bangladesh needed a business directory built differently. Not a copy-paste database updated once a year. Not listings with fake reviews and wrong phone numbers.
