Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA)

Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) is the highest administrative body that controls and ensures discipline in the transport sector of Bangladesh. BRTA started its function in January 1988 and works under the Ministry of Communication, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. Bangladesh Road Transport Authority is highly responsible for ensuring safe transport in Bangladesh. In one word, BRTA is the prime regulatory body that conducts all road or transport-related activities. The Authority has lots of functions including, vehicle registration, issuing driving licenses, delivering fitness and registration certificates, formulating the rate & fare of buses and trucks, providing digital number plates, giving driving instructor's licenses, registering schools for motoring, and more. Moreover, it also conducts various workshops, seminars, and research regarding transport-related issues.
